Pat James & Friends Christmas Party

Our first Christmas party took place on Dec 18th at Anglian Windows Social Club in Norwich. Around 130 of us enjoyed a sit down 3 meat buffet and sweet prepared by Maggie and her team of helpers. Delicious!. A well supported Christmas raffle took place with lots of great prizes together with a special raffle which had started several months ago, the top prize being a full size Casio Keyboard. The winning ticket was found to be Gordon James's who has guested for us on some occasions this year. A popular winner. Maggie then had a number of Fruit Basket presentations made to those who have helped make the Club such a success. (One to my dear wife Susan as well) Entertainment began just after 6pm with the introduction of Paul Scott on Accordian. Paul is rapidly making a name for himself as Norfolks own Jimmy Shand and his set was so well appreciated by all. Paul has a CD out early next year. Will keep you posted. Our guest singer/guitarist Bobby Graham then took to stage with a selection of Country classics before a very special visit from top singer songwriter Charlie Landsborough. OK, just kidding, it was me in disguise, but everyone remarked how Charlie sounded so much like Pat James.  After Charlie departed to catch his train home, Bobby then did a few more songs before I took my place on stage with many songs that I know our crowd just love. Pleased also to include a few new ones from my latest CD. Maggie's idea of serving up a mid evening snack of hot sausage rolls and mince pies about 8pm was spot on and again well appreciated. Finished the night on stage together with Bobby and included several well known Christmas songs. Altogether a lovely night and very well organised. Special thanks to my Aunt Maggie, Pam, Barnie and Jennie and all those who lent a hand. my own thanks to Bobby Graham who gave us such professional entertainment and did an even longer set while my make up team (The twins , Maggie and Ann) were making me a right Charlie. If anyone has pics from this evening they would like to send me, I will be pleased to add them to the Gallery

Jukebox Christmas Party

Another lovely night at the Jukebox Club.  Attendance of around 70 in a cosy venue provided by Carters Bowls Clubhouse in Norwich. This club experienced financial difficulties a little earlier this year with lower than usual attendances, but seemed to have turned the corner with attendances on the way up again. Guest appearances by Steve Alan and Mark James were well appreciated and we finished the night all on the dance floor with Best of Friends.  Thanks so much for all the Christmas Cards for Sue and myself. We have both decided this year that our usual habit of sending out cards is to be replaced by a donation to our chosen Charity.   Wishing all at the Jukebox Club a happy Christmas and Peaceful and healthy New Year.  . Great to see Rays brother Richard and wife Jane after so long.

Pat James & Friends Christmas Party

Looking Forward to this our first Christmas Party on 18th December.  So pleased with the popularity my new club has enjoyed since its beginning early this year. Attendances of over 100 now look to be the norm and all of us are having a great time. My very special thanks to my dear Aunt Maggie who suggested starting this music club at Anglian Windows Social Club and who has worked so hard to help make the club such a success. Thanks also to our gueuest singers who have performed for smaller fees whilst the club has become established. Maggie and I are so grateful to Gordon James, Kevin Solo , Steve Alan and Bobby Graham.  The popular Bobby Graham joins me for this Christmas Party along with a guest spot from Norfolks own Jimmy Shand, Paul Scott on Accordian.

Colt 45 Club Dec 10th 2011

Had a smashing night in the company of Ray and Jean Allotson on December 10th at The Colt 45 CW Club , Bucklesham Village Hall. Lovely venue and smashing people. Really nice to meet up again with  Ed and Jan Cuffe and to see Eds Brother in law Ben (Jimmy Hill)  and dear old Bernie.  Always pleased to see some of the Ghostriders. I think they must be on something, as they always have lots of energy and are such lively party people. Love you all.  Despite suffering health problems, both Ray and Jean continue to run this lovely club once a month and in doing so bring pleasure to so many people. Such dedicated work deserves great credit and thanks. Finally thanks also to our dear friends Enid and Alan who invited Sue and I to tea before heading on to the Club and for that huge iced Christmas cake and all the other items Enid had prepared for us. You are a special lady Enid. Love you lots.

Bungay Lions Charity Event at Chaucer Club Bungay

Sunday 4th December saw the Bungay Lions put on a charity event for around 150 local senior citizens. I had the pleasure of providing entertainment for these lovely folk and had a great time singing the many requests I received on the day.  Great credit to the Bungay Lions who planned this fantastic afternoon Christmas Party for our seniors and who put so much effort and time into making the day such a great success. So pleased to see our friends David and Ann Pearce from Worlingham who celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on 8th December.Congratulations ! Before the party began, I was presented with a signed copy of Darren Huckerby's Biography by Chris and Sandra Spooner of the Bungay Lions. Fantastic! , thanks so much for that. Really appreciated and Susan and I were made to feel so welcome.   Sadly I learned that this wonderful venue at the Chaucer Club in Bungay is having to close.  These places are like gold dust to our communities and should be protected from development in pursuit of profit , but I guess, as always, money talks.
