Pat's Blog

Sorry

So sorry to miss my own club event at Pat James and friends club on Sunday 15th April and I have just pulled out of my gig at The Jukebox Club in Norwich for Sunday 22nd April, owing to a heavy cold and throat infection.  (probably Man Flu) a lot worse than the kind women get.  Started last Saturday at Fakenham Community Centre, and only just managed to get through the night.   Never mind, hope to be back to full fitness soon, without antibiotics.   See you soon  xx    "All you need is Love"

Backstage with Charlie Landsborough

Had the pleasure of meeting up with Charlie Landsborough backstage at Kings Lynn Corn Exchange Theatre (last year).  Found Charlie and his wife Thelma to be really great people.  Surely deserves all the success he has enjoyed,  and Sue and I look forward to seeing him again when we can.  Thanks and best wishes to our friends Val and Fred Witt of Sudbury who arranged this for us.

New Video in HD

Just produced my first video from my  Fuji camera.  I have overlaid a studio quality recording over the movie and it's not too bad. My first subject has been my mate Paul Scott on accordion with a lovely "Highland feel" ballad called " Farewell".  Just click on the music tab, then the play button on Pauls video. It will come up full screen if you click bottom right of the smaller screen.  Now I know how to do this, I hope to have some of my own tracks on here soon. Meanwhile do enjoy Pauls playing of this quality recording. x

Golden Wedding Congratulations

Had the pleasure of providing the entertainment at Kirby Street Conservative Club, Ipswich on the occasion of Ray and Margaret Whitings Golden Wedding Anniversary. (24th March) Around 60 guests turned up for this special event for this very special couple.  Always aware on these events that I have a mixed age group audience and included Sixties, Country, reggae and Rock n roll.  The small picture of Margaret and Ray here can be viewed in my new gallery (Events) in larger size. The picture was taken within the club but then imposed on a countryside background. Nice!

St Patricks Day

Thanks a lot to everyone who turns up month after month to support The Pat James & Friends Club. With everyone entering into the spirit of St Patricks day and many wearing the green and gold of Ireland, we had another terrific day out out. Maggie's buffet was delicious as usual and enjoyed by all.

My thanks to Gordon James who put a high Irish content into his performance.  An ideal choice for this very Irish day out.  My friend Paul Scott added to his growing reputation as East Anglia's own Jimmy Shand with a great performance on the Hohner Atlantic Accordion. Well done Paul! a superb set .  Bobby Graham has generously donated 2 mock guitars to our club and I understand Barney will mount them very soon. Thanks Bobby, much appreciated.   Some really good pics from this day now posted to gallery. A pleasure also to meet Terry Edwards and his wife Maureen. I understand from Bobby that Terry has had quite a career in music performing with acts such as Shirley Bassey.  Terry will put in a guest appearance with us next month.
