New CD. "Look at us"

Will be completing my new CD next week. "Look at us" is the result of many people asking me when I would do another after "Rhumba Jane" which proved very popular.  With an emphasis on Country music, this CD has a few less familiar tracks, along with a few upbeat songs many will be familiar with.  The recent break in gigs has been a chance to get this done as well as a few things around house and garden I kept putting off.   Should be ready for my next Pat James & friends club event on July15th when the lovely Susan Jayne will be our guest singer.

Hope you can get there and look forward to seeing you all soon xxx

Dave Sheriff booked for September

For our September 16th Pat James & friends club event at the Wensum Valley Country Club, we have booked the very popular singer/songwriter Dave Sheriff.

Dave will be travelling from his home in Telford to be with us and to perform many of his biggest hits, including Red  Hot Salsa and Best of friends. His latest song aint bad either "we're off on a holiday".  May also hear his tribute song to the Grenville tower fire victims as well " Right place, Wrong time".   Look forward to seeing you and your wife Dave.   Will be a pleasure to share the gig with you.     Graham Johns will be with us in January providing dates which we have yet to organise fits in.   Apologies to Graham for a mix up.  I had rung him to rearrange his date with us which I understood to be ok, only to miss a voice message from him a little later confirming he was already booked on the alternative date.  So sorry Graham, but will make it right with an early booking next year.

Pat James & Friends June

Had our lowest turnout ever at The Wensum Valley club last Sunday.  It seems we suffered the perfect storm of Fathers Day, The World Cup and an Air Show at Great Yarmouth with the Red Arrows.

Felt a little bit for our guest singer Mitchell C Scott who deserved a better turnout. Never mind, those who did turn out seemed to enjoy Mitchells two sets of some familiar and some not so familiar songs.  Not all country, but that was never the plan and both Mitch and I did a few upbeat sixties which encouraged a few more on the dance floor.  Thanks a lot Mitch. You did well mate.  Didn't bother asking for the sliding doors to be opened this time because of our low turnout.     Hopefully, we get back to our normal level of support next month when Susan Jayne will be our guest act.

Thanks to those who did come along and look forward to seeing you again soon.

New Guest for September Club event

Pleased to tell you Maggie and I have booked a very special guest performer for our Club event on September 16th.   Originally booked for this date was the very popular Graham Johns, but he will now be with us in November instead.

All will be revealed at our next club event on Sunday 17th June at our regular venue, The Wensum Valley Hotel & Country Club, when our guest will be the increasingly popular Mr Mitchell C Scott.    Hope to see as many of you as possible this coming week.   I guarantee you will not be disappointed when you hear who we will be seeing ( and hearing)  in September.  Meanwhile, Mitch and I will be providing you with a great variety of the very best in Country Music this coming Sunday.

Jubilee Hall Event

A really good turnout for this fund raising gig last Sunday at Jubille Hall in Loddon.  Susan Jayne and I were so pleased at the success of this event at its significance in being a tribute to Dick Bloy of R & B Entertainment who sadly passed away recently after over 50 years in entertainment.  His wife Eileen organised this and used the occasion to raise funds to help with the hall maintenance, both herself and Dick having shared a history of supporting this lovely venue. Dick himself had sat outside what was a building site all those years ago selling bricks for this building. A highly successful event with over £600 being raised to help keep this wonderful local amenity in shape for future events. Well done to all concerned including of course the bar staff and those smashing people in the kitchen.

                                  Lovely day with lovely people.
