Pat James & Friends Club July

Had a good turnout this time round at The Wensum Valley.  Two fab sets from the very popular Susan Jayne with my usual input and some duets with Susan made for a very enjoyable afternoon and eary evening. Very hot and a lovely view over the golf course. Don't know where some of you find the energy but dance floor well occupied throughout.

Sorry Norma and Ray couldn't make it this time. Missed by us all and look forward to seeing them both next time.  Vals sister Bridget had a problem before the start and Paramedics attended. Bridget was taken into Hospital but after tests and a period of observation was allowed home thankfully. Wish you well Bridget. xx

Good news from David of The Ghostriders that my good friend Ed Cuffe is out of hospital now and is even helping organise this weeks Debenham Country Music Festival.  I am there from 1 to 5pm on Saturday.

When attempting to book our dates for next year, Maggie and I were disappointed to learn the Wensum Valley had no Sundays left in July or August next year.  As a regular booking, we felt really unhappy that they had filled both months without reference to us.   The Upstairs Kingfisher Suite isn't popular with our crowd, so it is likely we will seek a replacement venue for those two months and bring back Maggies famed Buffet.  In the light of this, we are now seeking to book our dates for 2020. Wow!. Good job we are all getting younger.

So pleased with your support on this very hot day. Susan and I really enjoyed your company.  Its me and Bobby Graham next month, Sunday 12th August, so hope to see ya all then xx

Debenham Music festival

Was looking forward to my gig at the Debenham Music Festival on Saturday 21st July (12 -5pm) Sadly my great friend Ed Cuffe who organises this much loved event is currently in hospital after suffering a stroke.  Hopefully its something Ed can recover from as many do.   So concerned right now for him and his wife Jan and of the festival will be poorer without them being there, as looks likely. Get well soon big fella.  Love and best wishes from me and Sue and from all at The Pat James & Friends Club in Norwich xx

Coming up soon

Seems ages since we had a Pat James & friends club gig. Well its next Sunday 15th July of course from 3pm as usual when our guest act once more is the lovely Susan Jayne. very popular with lots of our regulars. Hope to see you there. On sale will be my new CD " Look at us" with 16 tracks of songs not heard quite so often at our club.  Keeping the price at just £5 each .

Will be booking next years dates at The Wensum Valley Country Club Hotel this week.  No where better , and Bridgette,  the owner of this smashing venue has indicated on several occasions how keen she is to keep us there for the foreseeable future when our surroundings are about to be improved even more.

Maggie will also be placing a deposit for our Christmas 2 course carvery for our Christmas Party on Sunday December 16th from around mid day followed by Bobby Graham, Gordon James and myself providing your entertainment from 3pm.

Also in July, I will be at the Tivetshall Railway Tavern on July 18th from 9pm to midnight. Lovely atmosphere at this most traditional of English pubs.

Saturday July 21st, I will be on the back of a trailer at The Debenham Country Music Festival between 12 noon and 5pm with other acts including Nicky James and Clearcut.    Hosted by my now long time friend Mr Ed Cuffe.   Love to see some of our club regulars and Facebook friends there. Hopefully the weather will be fine to provide a lovely day out for you.

On Tuesday 31st July, I will be with those lovely people at the Norwich based Fabb Club in the Vauxhall Centre from 7pm.  Volunteer organiser Martin Fuller and other team members really do a great job here bringing some joy into the the lives of many less fortunate.

Anyone looking for a late night out can do worse than come along to the Tivetshall Railway Tavern on Wednesday night 18th July from 9pm to midnight.  Not the biggest pub but lovely atmosphere and good landlord in Chris. A mix of country and sixties in store. Look forward to seeing you there xx
